After graduating from Texas A&M, I returned to Cleburne and began working in the banking industry, After several years in banking, I started Hewlett Computer Services, Inc in 1987. Hewlett Computer Services, Inc provided data processing services to community banks. We grew the company to provide services for 19 banks and in 1998, we sold the company to Jack Henry & Associates, one of the largest banking software companies in the U.S.  I continued to work for Jack Henry where I managed the check processing operations for their outsourcing division, Outlink. I was also in charge of developing new centers as well as overseeing the disaster recovery for the entire Outlink division. I left Jack Henry in 2003 and started consulting with financial institutions on their backroom and IT operations.

In 2005, we started Hewlett Office Systems LLC, to provide sales, service and support to small businesses on their computers, networks, copiers, printers and all kinds of office equipment.  Hewlett Office Systems now has nine employees and services customers all over North Central Texas. In 2012, we started Bright Beginnings Christian Learning Center, LLC to provide childcare services for infants to school-age children. Bright Beginnings currently has 122 children and 19 employees.

I served two terms on the Cleburne ISD School Board in the early 1990s and served as the Mayor of Cleburne in 2010 - 2012.
